NNBF

June 21, 2012.
Katie's friends from back home were down visiting and stayed with us a couple days then planned to spend some time down in Savannah. Well, Katie's bf lived relatively close to Sav, so we decided that the 3 of us would leave from his place and head out to meet her friends for an evening of shenanigans and then just all stay at Adam's casa, so we could get our drink on. Not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked because there was a chance I'd be seeing Aaron while over there. When we first arrived at the house, I immediately noticed Aaron outside on the dock...shirtless. Good lawd have mercy, I did NOT hate what I was seeing. But, because I'm a huge wuss, I decided to just stare at him from the safety of the house, where he couldn't see all the drool running down my face. I managed to snap out of it for a second and Katie introduced me to Aaron and Adam's roommate, Matt's, girlfriend. Jayma was a super nice girl and she was setting up streamers and stuff for Matt's return from Ranger school, but she had to get going so she could head down to wherever his school was to see him. Right after she left, Aaron comes strolling in the house and says something about me being too cool to come out and say hi...I just feigned innocence, "ohhh, I was talking with Katie and Jayma, sorry, I didn't even see you out there!" *LIES* Then he mentioned something about us being NBF's and I had to let him know...."Well, since Adam is my NBF, and I can't have two people with the same nickname, you're going to have to be NNBF for NEW New Best Friend!" He was totally down, SCORE! So, while Katie and Adam were in his room getting ready, I was chatting it up with Aaron. We talked about how he was getting promoted to Sergeant and how he'd been up since about 0400 that day, so he was really tired. I figured he probably wouldn't be interested in going downtown with us then, which kinda bummed me out, but I knew I'd see him the next day at the very least. We were all ready to head out at this point and we offered for him to meet up if he wanted, he said he might. Then, something I'll NEVER forget, when we said bye to him he said, "too-da-loo!" and it made me giggle. He would just say the silliest things all the time and it always gave me teenage girl giggles.

After a long night downtown, we headed back to the house. One of Adam's friends had met us out and he was a super nice guy...until he had too many drinks, then he just became aaaannoooooyiiiiiing! Well, he ended up coming back to the house with us because he'd had too much to drink and couldn't drive. *sigh* He was irritating me because he kept wanting to be all up in my business, so I made sure to sit on the opposite couch as him. Since Matt was still gone, I got to sleep in his room instead of on the couch, thank goodness, so I went in there to put my pj's on and came back out to watch some TV. Aaron had come in and out a few times, then one time he walked by in a towel after just taking a shower. Oh. My. Gah. I think that image is forever burned into my brain, and I am ok with that FOR SURE! I don't think I was exactly coy about my gawking either. Anyway, he kept walking by and I'm like, "so, do you wanna watch TV with us?" and he kept having things to do, like, ya know, putting clothes on, haha. And he had to go find his dog who wandered off a little ways. But, after that, he decided to watch some TV (thank goodness, so I didn't have to deal with creeper alone) and he sat on the little couch with me...WIN!! We got to chatting and he said he was going to be in my town on the 23rd to hang out with his brother and that we should hang out afterward. Uhhh, YES PLEASE! After a little while, we were both super tired and decided to leave creeper to watch TV alone, except he was actually just passed the eff out. So, we parted ways, him to his room and me to Matt's, then I remembered I had to give him my digits! So, I asked for his, put it in my phone and told him I'd text him. Once I did, while in different rooms, he was saying I should come hang out with him...soooo, I wandered into his room and we just talked, while lying in his bed. We started being all cuddly and being total teenagers with him saying stuff like, "I think I deserve a kiss on the cheek" and all sorts of just goobery stuff. Aaaaand, next thing ya know....clothes are off, lights are on and we are getting. down. to. business. It's SO weird...normally I am ridiculously self conscious about my body. Like, to the point that I've dated guys for as long as a year and they've only seen my butt ONCE. I'm just weird like that...but, when it came to Aaron, I NEVER felt that way. I could be naked with him, lights on, in daylight, and just be ok with it. He always made me feel SO good about myself. So, that was the night of our first sexcapade. Needless to say I didn't end up even sleeping in Matt's bed, hehehe!

Well, I think that's enough of THAT. Must shower now...and I might have to make it a cold one just remembering that night! :)

More to come.

I need this...

It is with a heavy heart that I've returned to my blog, unfortunately. But I really needed some place to go where I could just SAY what I feel like I can't say to anyone. I feel like people kind of get sick of hearing about the same thing over and over again, no matter how it's affected you. Also, if you've kept some things to yourself prior to an incident, some people may not GET why it's affecting you so much.

Anyway, that was super vague. What I'm trying to get at is this....someone I was on the verge of falling in love with was recently killed while serving his country and protecting our freedoms. His name is Aaron and aside from one major flaw, he was damn near perfect. Well, to me.

So, to start from the beginning, my friend/roomie (the one I moved down to SC to stay with) was dating this guy in the Army and I enlisted his help to find me someone to mess around with. You see, the day before I moved down to SC I found out "SM" had cheated on me while we were together and I was looking to blow off some steam. And, what's that saying? "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." Yeah, I was all about that. Anyway, so Katie and Adam (my friend and her boyfriend) decided that Adam's one roomie would be a good pick for me. Seemed like he's not looking for anything serious, good looking guy and really nice.

June 18, 2012.
The four of us meet up for dinner at a halfway point since we live in SC and the guys live in GA, and go to some place called FATZ. We were all chatting it up and having a good time and next thing I know we're talking about Top Gun and Aaron actually has stuff to say about it! Being that Top Gun is my favorite movie, I was immediately impressed. We had a nice time during dinner and when we were done, both Katie and Adam needed to use the bathroom, so Aaron and I walked outside together. It was in that moment that I noticed he was wearing Chucks. Whaaaaaat?! YES!! Before leaving the house I said to myself, "put the Chucks back, Amy, wear flip flops so you're not a total tomboy," and I kind of kicked myself for doing that after seeing his. Regardless, I was like, "Oh my gosh, I almost wore MY Chucks tonight, too!" Aaaaand just another thing for us to bond over, haha. So, we're outside talking about movies and Top Gun and he says it's his second favorite movie. AHHHH, second fav movie EVER?! That's a pretty big deal, I loved it! Then, we were talking about how my nickname for Adam was NBF for New Best Friend and Aaron was like, "looks like we are NBF's now, too." And I giggled about that. Katie and Adam came out then and we all walked to our respective cars and parted ways. I'll always remember what Aaron was wearing that day: plain grey t-shirt, camo shorts and grey Chucks. Looking all sorts of glorious in such a simple outfit.

That's our first meeting....I'll never forget it. Ever.

More to come.

The return of moi...for now.

Alas, I have returned.  For the time being anyway.

My biggest news is that SM and I are actually, officially dating!  When I went for my visit to Key West back in December, we had a little chat, where I explained to him that it's not fair for him to punish me for those girls in his past.  He said he wasn't punishing me, but I didn't feel that way, since he said he'd NEVER date long distance again.  Either way, we talked it out and I got my man in the end!  Yay!  :)

Christmas came and went, and since I procrastinated on sending his gifts out (I'm the idiot who had them sent to me instead of directly to him) we opened them on Skype a few days later.  He did SUCH a great job with mine!  Like, I literally could not have done a better job myself!  He got me an Alabama Crimson Tide shirt from Victoria's Secret, a Browns shirt that has A. Foster on the back (and the number 55, since I love multiples of 5), aaaand a necklace that says "My Soul Mate" in Gaelic.

One day in January, I'd been at a friend's parent's house for New Girl (every Tuesday night ritual) and didn't get home until about 10.  I'm on the phone with my best friend, ready to head up to my room, when I notice a box at the bottom of the stairs.  Super confused, so I look at the tag, it's for me.  Hmmm, weird.  Too dark in the house for me to see where it's from...so I stick my nose right up to it and see two of the most beautiful words ever, "Gerbera Daisies."  EEEEEEEEK!!  Whaaaaat?!  For meeeee?!  He had randomly bought me flowers, "just because," and I was so excited I started crying.  I've literally never had a boyfriend buy me flowers for no reason.

For my birthday, Feb 6, he flew up to Ohio to see me.  Best birthday present ever!  After a few days here, we went to Illinois to see his family and I got to meet his mom, sister and nephew for the first time.  I'd met his dad briefly back in June when I dropped him off after our first weekend together.  It was a great week, best week I can remember in a long time!  Now the worst part starts.  The waiting.  I have absolutely no idea when we'll be able to see each other again because I've got work, he's got work...and tickets to Key West around this time run about $800 a pop.  That's just way too much for me to spend right now.  And it SUCKS.

So, a few months ago, SM's best friend and I started chatting it up, harmless things obviously.  It began with Dexter stuff, then we'd just chat about everyday things, then we became like the best of buddies!  He'd tell me everything and I'd tell him everything, it was pretty cool!  I was thinking it was a good thing, considering I am dating his best friend.  But things have recently gotten awkward.  He is interested in one of my closest friends, and they began texting, but he's legally still married so she wants nothing to do with him right now, except to be friends.  Respectable decision, and he gets it.  But he also stopped talking to SM a month or so ago, because he didn't like how he was acting, said he was being different...and just recently told me that he'd said some not-so-great things about me, only to retract them a few days later.  Whatever, these things happen, I complain about SM as well, so I wasn't too worried about it.  Except recently he told SM about something that he and I had talked about, and it really freaking irritated me.  Mostly I was irritated because he misquoted me, which just pisses me off, because if you're going to "tattle" on me, at least say it how things really happened.  But then I was irritated because SM didn't even bother to really listen to my side of it and got aggravated when I tried to explain myself.  What. The. Fuck.  So, he goes a month without even talking to SM then breaks his silence to tell him I got butt hurt about something.  He's acting so childish that I can barely stand it.  The only reason he even said anything to SM was because I told my close friend that he was being a jerk and told her what he said.  Oooook, so we're playing that game??  Cool.  Well, basically anything I've ever complained about regarding SM, I've ended up telling SM about anyway because I'm not trying to be "that girl" that complains about her boyfriend but doesn't even bother telling him that she's mad about something so they can work it out.  Ugh.  I know this whole paragraph was a huge pile of nonsense and it probably makes no sense, but I had to get it out.  It's just so freaking frustrating!

Anyway, I've recently acquired the status of "having no life," so I'm going to try and be a better blogger.  Promise.  But, please note the word TRY.

Here I am!

Oh my gosh, I'm back.  I have been so crazy busy!  And usually after work I'm just SO exhausted that I work out, shower, throw on my PJ's and do nothing but veg.

To give you an update though, things are going pretty great!  Well, in the dating part of life anyway.  Work is still a work in progress, but I'm not sure how long I want to have to work on that progress.  I take 1 step forward and 3983409283098234 steps back.  Frustrating!

So, I know I've mentioned my SM (Soul Mate) a few times, but let's get into the full story of this all over again so I can catch you up!  While I was in Florida for work training I met a couple girls, one was from Key West and the other from Maryland.  We were inseparable for the 5 days of training and have stayed in touch since leaving.  That was back  about 2.5 months ago.  The one gal, from KW, would tell me every day about how I reminded her so much of her guy friend in everything that I did.  I thought it was funny and interesting, because I'm a pretty odd bird.  She told him about me while we were still at training and nothing ever came of it.  Then she would randomly send me pictures of him when I got back to Ohio.  Here and there.  I thought he was SO freaking cute, I couldn't stand it!  I kept telling her to pass on my digits, but I think she might've thought I was joking because she never did.  Finally I was like "Hellooooo, pass on my digits to him!!"  And she FINALLY realized I was serious!  So she gave me his number and gave him mine.  I waited a couple of days to see if he'd text me, but I was tired of waiting because I just kinda wanted to see what this guy was all about, so I made the first step and just got it outta the way.  We probably talked for a total of maybe 30 mins and that was that.  I didn't want to be the only one texting him and seeming like an overeager freak so I just stepped back and let it go a few days.  Sure enough that weekend he ended up texting me before bed just to say hey.  Didn't hear from him the next day, even though he said he'd text me, so I text him the next night just saying hey and that I was sorry he had to work all weekend.  He got it in the middle of him sleeping so he forgot about it and text me a few days later apologizing for taking so long to get back to me.  We didn't really talk again until a couple days later when I was heading off for my date.  You may recall I said he and I text ALL night long.  Well....it's basically been non-stop since then.  EEK!!  We literally text from morning until it's time for bed, which we both end up going to bed way too late because we're too caught up in our conversation.  We talked for probably a week or so when we decided to have our first "phone date" and actually talk on the phone.  I was so nervous I almost couldn't eat dinner.  Almost.  I'm weird like that.  It is seriously wild how much we have in common!  I think our biggest differences are that I love the Cleveland Browns and he's a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, which are our rivals.  I gotta tell you, I'm more than willing to look beyond his horrible taste in NFL teams to see where this could go!

If I could describe my perfect guy, minus the Steelers thing, he would probably be damn near it.  He's super nice, very attentive, calls me on my days off while he's working just to chat for a bit in between calls (he's a cop), he isn't afraid of talking about serious things involving relationships...I mean, he's just AWESOME!  So, we were planning on when I could go down to KW to visit him and my friend, but I knew it'd be awhile.  I'm going to Cali in July and taking time off work for that, plus I paid a shit ton of money for the ticket.  Going to KW was going to have to wait until I saved up some more dough and PTO time.  Then out of nowhere he asks what I'm doing on June 24-26.  I mean, that was like a month away so I had no idea!  He said I should come visit him, and while I would've loved to KW was just not going to happen, as I've just stated!  Well, good thing he'll be in CHICAGO that week to visit family, so it actually IS possible!!!!!  It's only 6 hours from where I live!!  Oh my gosh, I am so freaking excited!!  An entire weekend away with the SM, this should be amazing!!  We have made a huge connection.  It's also nice to know that he's also been married and divorced, and also doesn't know if he wants kids.  Oh my gosh, talk about a soul mate!  It's hard to find that these days!  Some guys don't want "damaged goods" with me having been married before, and possibly not wanting kids is also a deterrent for some guys.  My last ex basically told me we WERE having kids, and I should've seen that as a sign to peace out since nobody is going to tell me I am DEFINITELY having kids, but I brushed it off.

Is this not so typical of me??  I absolutely would be the girl who hasn't met a guy in person and goes to spend a weekend with him in a city she's never been to.  Welcome to my weird life.  At least I'm not meeting a guy nobody has ever heard of before and spending a weekend with him...that would be a little too much!  Luckily I've got a friend who spends a lot of time with him.  I'm pretty nervous about the first meeting.  I already have butterflies about it.  I'm only going to be there 3ish days and I have already started planning out what I should wear.  I'm being such a freak about it!

We're supposed to have a Skype date tonight, this will be our first of those so of course I'm nervous and straightened my hair for the occasion.  What a dork.  It's just nice to have a guy reciprocate shit for once.  I was always getting walked all over, being the only one to do and say nice things, suggest doing stuff.  He's initiated all contact except the very first text, we can thank me for that.  I don't know, I am trying so hard to not get my hopes set too high, but I feel like it's already too late for that.  This has been such a strong connection.

Well...with that being said, I guess I should be on my way so I can mentally prepare myself for this Skype date!  Wish me luck!  ;)

The date.

Alright, I'm finally back from a full day of shopping and running around in this b-e-a-utiful weather!  So I'm here to dish about my "date" from last night.

It started off fine when he came to pick me up, but I immediately got annoyed with him because he had the windows down and I said "I'm going to put mine up so it doesn't ruin my hair" because we were getting on the freeway, and he acknowledged that I said that then 5 mins later at a stop light winds my window back down.  I thought he was teasing me, but actually he just wasn't even listening when I said I was putting mine up and had no idea that I had done so.  Ugh.  Annoying.  Then he asked why I'd had a hellish week so I started telling him about stuff that's been happening at work lately and every 10 seconds he'd interrupt me to say a stupid comment or try and make a joke....but I really hate when people do that!  Just let me tell my story and then you can be the center of attention, jeez!  The thing is, this guy jokes ALL the time.  I like joking around, I'm pretty sarcastic most of the time, but he's like overkill on that shit so it was annoying me.

We got to Panini's around 715 and he was surprised that it was crowded at 715 on a Friday...hmmm, shocking.  So we decide to sit at the inside bar because they had the huge glass doors open so we were able to feel the breeze and the nice weather without me getting burnt.  We got some drinks and after awhile I decided it was food time, I was starving!  He had to answer a work call, so while he was gone I got us menus and figured out what I wanted.  A little while later the bartender asked us if we were ordering and I did, he said he wasn't hungry.  When she walked away I was like "how are you not hungry??" and he said it was because he didn't work that day so he sat around all day and had eaten a little bit before picking me up.  Wow...oooooook then.  He asked me a bunch of questions about myself, most of which he asked me last Saturday when he asked me out, but he didn't remember the answers because he was drunk Saturday.  Man, this just kept getting better!

Here comes my favorite part of the night.  It's 2.5 hours into the date and he says to me, "I didn't really consider this a date until right now."  WHAT?!?!  Who seriously says that?!  If I didn't already know this guy and if he wasn't best friends with one of my best friends boyfriend, I would've been like, "take me the fuck home."  Anyway, I didn't feel bad about anything after that and I spent the entire rest of the evening texting with My Soulmate.  Eventually we had my friend come up there because she had a bad day and needed some friend time.  Then she and I ended up meeting some drunk girl in the bathroom and she came up to us at the bar and wanted to introduce me to her single guy friend she was with that is some sort of engineer so "he's loaded."  I entertained it and went out there and all that, but definitely no sparks there either.  Fail.

All in all I did have a nice time, but a nice time as in it was fine hanging out with him like friends.  As much as he talked to me about how he thinks I'm good looking and funny and nice and outgoing and whatever...he just didn't do it for me.  So, I'm more than happy to be friends with him but nothing more.

Now, as for things with My Soulmate...that's going awesome!  :)

Hope y'all are having a great weekend!!  I'm off to a wedding tomorrow!!

Really?!

Ok, I found out where we're going on our date tomorrow.  He spared no expense, he is going to blow all my other dates out of the water, he is really spoiling me!!  He's taking me to...........

Panini's.

Really?!  Panini's?!  Home of the overstuffed sandwich?!  Good golly miss Molly, I hope I'm allowed to have more than just water to drink.

I feel like this is SO typical.  A guy talks about how much better he is than every other guy, how you'll have a way better time on his date than any before...and then when it comes down to it, he takes you to Panini's.  Why not just splurge for McDonald's?  At least they have a Play Place.

I know I have no romantic interest in him, but he's the one who talked this date up like it was going to blow me out of the freakin' water.  Am I being too hard on him?

That's all I've got.

Girls Night!

One of my closest friends and I had a girls night last night and it turned out pretty fab!!  Well, the weather didn't make for a pleasant evening, but we made the best of it.  It was seriously so eerily foggy, I could barely see anything while driving!

So, we started off at a bar in Wickliffe to try something new, but it was a total bust so we had one beer and peaced outta there.  We ended up at BW3 which is way closer to our houses anyway.  I went to the bathroom at one point and all of a sudden my friend's talking to someone at the bar, turns out her boyfriend's best friend was up there for a few drinks as well.  He lives about 3 seconds away from there so he's there a lot, wasn't out of the ordinary.  I've hung out with him a few times, with my friend and her man of course, and the first time I met him he was soooo annoying!  He was already wasted and was standing, like on top of me and smacked my ass and...it was so annoying.  Then the next time I saw him he was sober and he was SOOOOOO much better, it was like night and day!!  Then when we saw him last night he was better too, thank goodness!  So anyway, I guess he's talked about me to my friend a few times since first meeting me and last night he was asking me about my ex-boyfriends and dates that I've gone on.  Well, I've only ever been on 2 first dates in my entire life, both of which were when I was 25, and actually they were on the same day.  One was lunch and one was dinner.  That's it.  Never had one before or after since then.  Wait, I take that back, I did have another one, but it went nowhere and I knew it wouldn't.  I mean, just because I already knew him and he was friends with one of my friends doesn't mean he should be able to text during our date to find out the score to the football game!  Uhhhh, no.  Anyway, then he started talking about how much fun he thinks I'd have if I went on a date with him.  So he asked me out.  I was actually really shocked by that, I wasn't expecting it at all!  So, I'm leaving everything up to him, I don't feel that I need to plan anything, that's on him.  So this should be interesting.

Then, before that happened, I got a text from my "soul mate."  When I went to training for work in Orlando I met a couple girls, one is from Key West and she would constantly say that I remind her of her guy friend and that we must be soul mates.  So, finally a few months later, she gave him my number and me his.  We started talking last week, but I initiated it and don't feel like I need to constantly do that, I'm over doing that no matter how badly I want to, I resist. So he text me last night before he went to bed, just to say hi, which I thought was sweet.  And then he was going to bed and said he'd text me today, but he didn't.  But I'm not really sweating it.  He's a cop and I know he gets busy, plus it's not like he's my boyfriend, so I'm trying not to be a crazy person about it.

That was my weekend, I hope y'alls was enjoyable as well!!  I'll leave you with a few pics from last night!  :)

My girl and me.

Yummy Woodchuck!

Ryan and Kati.

Ryan, me and my boobs.

Hahaha, he thought I was playing nice.  No way!

Stare down!!

The Ex-Husband (part 1).

Ok, I've finally got some time to sit down and actually write a beginning to this ex-husband story so you aren't totally in the dark.  Just kind of .

So you'll probably recall I said that the breakup with My First Love was mutual and that it truly was a hard time for me.  Well, that's completely truthful, however even though I was strong to other people it had made me feel really bad about myself.  Like, I couldn't make it happen with him after that long, how could I make it happen with anybody else?!  I was at quite a low point.  A couple months after the breakup I met My Ex-Husband through one of my college roommates.  They had worked together in high school and had remained good friends.  Well, sometimes for fun I'd talk to some of her friends on AIM, he happened to be one of those friends!  At first it really was just friendly and then it got flirty.  Then we were talking all the time and he was calling me on my birthday (just so you can keep up, it was my 20th birthday).  I should probably mention that at this time he was enlisted in the USAF (United States Air Force) and was living all the way across the country in California.  Moving on...so things with us progressed pretty quickly.  Probably because the thought of being single to me was absolutely awful.  I'd rather have a boyfriend 3,500 miles away than be completely alone.  Did I also mention we'd never met before?  Well, with him living in Cali it was kind of hard to have actually met face to face. So, on a whim we decided to start dating anyway.  We'd talk all night long, well all night for me since I was 3 hours ahead of him, and he was exactly what I thought I wanted at this fragile part of my life.  He was very attentive, was madly in love with me very shortly after we started dating and had even sent me flowers out of nowhere one day when I was getting a lot of shit from my roomies for dating him.

Luckily his sister was graduating from high school a couple months after we began dating and he decided to come home for it so he could see her graduate...and mainly so he could finally meet me, the girlfriend without a face.  Just kidding about that part, we'd seen pictures of each other and had had web cam chats a few times.  He wasn't exactly what I thought I'd be looking for in the looks department, but I can honestly say that it didn't bother me at all.  I went from a boyfriend who was 5'11" and maybe 150 lbs, to one who was 5'8"ish and 205 lbs.  Pretty big difference.  Anyway, that's neither here nor there.  I loved him.  Funny thing was that I had spoken to his family a couple times on the phone and on MSN messenger and his mom and I had planned that I'd surprise him at the airport when she picked him up!  So, technically I met his mom before I met him.  Ugh, I'm a freak.  Anyway, he really was surprised, he had no idea!  And I was so elated, to be able to hug him and look at him, it was amazing.  I couldn't have been happier.  I ended up staying the night at his parents and we had our first kiss and romp session that night.  Only to be embarrassed the next day when we were driving around with his sister and she said she could heard the bed squeaking.  I was mortified!  But his family was very welcoming of me and we got along right off the bat.  He was awesome too, he would always do small, random things for me.  He had his sister go pick up one of my favorite movies for him so I could have it, which was so cute to me.  When he had to leave I thought I was going to die.  I drove him to the airport and bawled when I had to say goodbye, the whole way home and even when I got home.

I liked that when we did get into a fight and I'd hang up on him, he'd actually call me back (probably about 30 times) until I answered and was ready to talk to him.  And he even sent me flowers randomly for our 4 monthiversary.  I really liked that because you definitely don't expect that!  I was so excited when he said he wanted me to come out for 2 weeks to visit him!  He paid for my ticket since I had a shitty job at a pizza place that paid $5.50/hr.  I wasn't going much of anywhere on that kinda money.  I was super stoked to see him but I was always thrilled because I'd never been to California before!  I had joined this Yahoo group of women that lived on the base, mainly wives and some girlfriends.  So while he was at work I'd have someone to possibly hang out with.  I'll never forget driving away from LAX, I stared at the palm trees with my mouth gaping open.  What a tourist.

By this time we'd only been together 5 1/2 months, but we were so madly in love, it was truly intense!  So, the Monday before I left...we decided to elope.  And we did just that.

To be continued...

The Virgin.

Ok, let's just get right down to it!

In between a small breakup sesh with My First Love I dated The Virgin.  It was my first year of college and I had met him through a mutual friend, he was pa-retty good looking.  Dark hair, light eyes, tan.  Delicious.  Anyway, we dated for a month or two, I really can't even remember how long.  Maybe it was a little longer than that.  He went to school about 4 hours away from me, so we hardly ever saw each other, but when we did it was pretty fab.  I was at his school to visit one of my gf's and I stayed the night with him one night and he convinced his roomie to stay elsewhere.  SCORE!  Literally.  I snatched up his V-card on his dorm room futon, so romantic!  And that was only just the beginning of my mistake.  Since I took his v-card and was also his first kiss and girlfriend at the ripe ole age of 18, he thought he was in love with me.  Now I know how 30 year old men feel when they cradle rob a 19 year old.  I just wasn't that into him and ended up hanging with My First Love one evening while he was home.  I lived an hour away from my college and was home every weekend, so this worked out.  Well My First Love and I ended up having some serious sexual tension between us and had a hot and wild (as hot and wild as it can be) make out session at my house.  That was kind of it for me, even though one night it eventually turned into a sex session in the hot tub.  If The Virgin would've just listened to his mother then he wouldn't have even gotten himself into this mess (aka me) in the first place!  She told him that she was wary of me since I had just gotten out of a relationship and boy was she right (why do my bf's mother's dislike me so much?!  I'm a nice girl!)!  I definitely wasn't ready to be dating anyone else.  I had to break things off with him, he just wasn't what I wanted.  I felt bad because he used to call me every single night crying his eyes out and came over to my house with a card and a letter inside, begging me to take him back.  But, what's a girl to do?!  He just wasn't My First Love and I actually wasn't in love with him at all.  That's saying a lot for me, there's only been 2 guys that I've dated that I haven't dropped the L-bomb on.

So, see how simple and sweet that was?  Painless if you ask me!

Next post we'll discuss my ex-husband.  Wait, what?!  Yeah, you read that right.  Bet you didn't see that one coming, did ya?!  ;)

My first love (part 2).

Other than not really getting along with My First Love's mom, everything else was pretty great.  I got along great with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.  And he got along really well with my family as well.  We spent almost all of our free time together, but didn't completely neglect our friends.  It was almost perfect!  But, as I mentioned previously, I have a bit of a temper and I'd get mad about the stupidest things.  I don't want to blame it on my childhood, but that definitely plays a huge part in this.  But that's something I don't really want to get into right now, perhaps another time.  Anyway, we were together all of high school and during our first year of college we spent our Spring Breaks at each other's schools.  It was awesome, I loved how things were going!  But then I met someone else, and I was curious as to how it would be to be with someone else, I'd never known what that was like and I was stupid.  That's when I dated The Virgin.  Again, I'll come back to that.  After I broke things off with The Virgin to get back together with My First Love, things were great again, we picked back up right where we left off.

And then, I transferred schools to be with him our second year of college.  We saw each other pretty frequently and were always spending nights together.  It was kind of like living together, except we had our own places so we weren't up each other's asses.  Perfection.  After awhile we just kind of started fighting A LOT, and it wasn't just me this time, it was both of us.  We had actually gotten into this REALLY bad fight one night at a party that was being held at my apt and he had thrown a beer can at me while I was walking away from him.  I went ape shit on his ass and chased him out of the apartment, said some things I didn't mean, and comforted him while he cried.  And even after that craziness, we still managed to move forward.  Then, out of nowhere, we just kind of fell apart.  It was hard for me, it really was, but it was even harder on him.  I felt awful.  It was truly a mutual breakup, except instead of me crying at the end of it all, he was.  Which is extremely unlike me to NOT cry, but I think I just knew  that this time was for good.

We tried to remain friends after that, but it actually took awhile for us to get to a good place.  For quite a few years we were the absolute best of friends, I could tell him anything and he could tell me anything.  That was the greatest feeling in the world, just knowing I could trust these things with him and that he knew me so well he could give me pointers on how to handle things, stuff like that.  Then, he started dating this huge (pardon my French) cunt and we're not even allowed to be friends anymore.  Like we're 5 and we have to have permission!  I met this girl for the first time when I was dating someone else and she seemed to really like me!  I made sure to pay most of my attention to her and never mentioned things that My First Love and I had done in the past or anything.  I was really trying with this girl!  At first she liked me, and theeeeen once I was single again, she hated me.  I went to My First Love's birthday get together and she wouldn't even look at me, let alone talk to me, so I talked to his sister the whole night.  Then, one night, I was going to be at a bar he frequented so I asked if he was there, he was.  When I showed up I didn't see him anywhere and then finally, about 10 mins later, he found me when I was standing at the bar.  He was sitting there alone with a solemn look on his face.  It was weird, so I kind of just shrugged him off because I was pissed he was acting that way.  Couple days later I email him and ask him what the fuck was with that night at the bar.  When he emailed me back I couldn't believe my eyes, I happened to read it on my phone while I was at work and I was in tears!  He basically said that it was between me and her and he didn't want to choose.  Well, I made that real easy for him and told him that unlike her I wasn't going to make him choose, and that I'd just stop contacting him and we didn't have to be friends anymore.  Was that immature?  Yeah, it probably was.  But you have to understand, at this point I had known him about 8 years, 4 of which we were together!  I was so hurt and felt SO betrayed.

We didn't speak for a long time, I'd say almost a year, and I just couldn't do it anymore.  I emailed him begging him to reconcile, to be my friend again, I needed him.  Not because I'm still in love with him, but because he knows me almost better than anyone else and we've shared so many stories, memories and just everything together.  I needed that back.  Well, he took two weeks to write me back, but he did.  However, he said he needed to talk to his cunt face bitch fiancĂ©e (I have no idea when they got engaged since we hadn't spoken in so long) and see how she felt about it.  I wrote him back and said that I wish I knew what her insecurities were so I could reassure her that I don't want to be with him.  I also suggested we all get together and talk about this, I mean, we're all adults here.  At least I am anyway.  That was about 2 months ago, haven't heard a thing from him since.  What is a girl to do?  I have issues letting people go.  Yet another thing I'm trying to work on.

So, in my next post we'll discuss boyfriend #2, The Virgin...

My first love (part 1).

I guess now that I'm blogging more frequently I really should start from the beginning, dating wise anyway.  So let's do that, shall we?

I met My First Love in high school.  Actually when I met him he'd been dating one of my best friends, and that lasted all of maybe 2 weeks.  I know, I know, I kind of broke girl code by dating an ex of one of my bff's.  But let's be real, this was in high school, it lasted no more than a couple weeks and when she broke up with him she had me listen in on another phone in her house.  She couldn't have been that interested in him, right?!  That's how I look at it anyway.  Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, that wasn't the first time I met him, he dated another girl I'd met in high school before my bff.  Wow, it's all coming back to me now.  Anyway, when those two dated they were in one of our groups for a school dance where we all took a limo and went to dinner and the dance together.  But we barely spoke.  Anyway, that's neither here nor there, I met him my 10th grade year and we became friends when he dated my bff, I was the only one who was nice to him at our lunch table.  We started dating when we were 16 and he was my first boyfriend, my first kiss, my first...everything.  If you catch my drift.  He was really great, very attentive and he always did the sweetest things for special holidays and anniversaries.  We were madly in love and dated (on and off) for almost 4 years.  It's funny, we managed to survive a year of college apart yet ended up breaking up when I changed colleges to be closer to him.  That's ok, those things happen.

It's funny that I bitched about mentioned people only text these days, when back in 10th grade all we did was IM each other on AOL.  Ahhh, the sweet sound of dial-up, how I don't miss you!  Anyway, we would spend hours after school and on weekends IM'ing each other and we really were just friends for a little while.  Actually his two best friends both asked me out and I just wasn't into them that way.  The dance we all went to as a group, I actually went with one of his best friends.  Oh my gosh, how horrible of friends were we to these people?!  I'm just now realizing this.  I digress.  So after we were IM'ing for a couple weeks he started calling me and we'd talk after school on the phone every. single. day.  I was in heaven!  I obviously started liking him A LOT and he felt the same, however he also liked my friend (the one he previously dated for 2 weeks) so it took him awhile to finally ask me out.  I was SO excited!  I remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was actually 11 years ago.  I was getting ready to go babysit my neighbors kid for a few hours, so I had to get off the phone.  He said he had something to ask me before we got off the phone, and he said the most beautiful words I had ever heard, "I just wondered if you would be my girlfriend."  I probably wanted to scream "FUCK YES!"  But I held that in and gave a little giggle and said "YES!" probably a little too quickly because he responded with, "what, were you waiting for me to ask you or something?"  Uhhhh, YES no, I'm totally cool man, I'm just living in the moment.  What does he think?!  OF COURSE I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO ASK ME OUT!

The next day we had our "first date" if you can call it that.  Meaning we went and walked around the mall holding hands until they got so sweaty because we were so nervous that we had to break apart.  That was also the evening of my FIRST KISS.  Swoon!  We were in his truck, getting ready to leave the mall, when he planted one on me!  It was heavenly, it was magical, I'm pretty sure I saw fireworks!  It was the exact way I had pictured my first kiss to be.  And then he had to ruin it by telling me I was a good kisser.  Now I say he ruined it, but I'm sure back then I was elated that he thought so since he knew I'd never kissed anyone before.  Ahhh, the good ole days when I still had (most of) my innocence.  So before our first date he had to meet my parents since he was my bf and he was going to be driving me places (he, like, so totally already had his drivers license and his own truck, eek!) and that went fine.  Me meeting his parents for the first time, however, not as great as I'd hoped it would be.  I mean, this was my first experience in dating EVER and now I'm meeting his parents a couple weeks later, I was so nervous!  So, we went to this steak place, which would normally be my idea of Heaven on Earth because I loooove steak, but instead I ordered a chicken caeser salad because I don't like when other people pay for me at restaurants so I always try to get the cheap thing.  As soon as his mother opened her mouth about it I knew this (she and I) was going to be a match made in HELL.  "Ahhh, I remember our first date when I ordered a salad because I didn't want you to think I was fat."  Wow.  Really?!  Thanks for making me feel like a schmuck the first time we meet, greatly appreciated!  From then on it was downhill, I truly only got along with that woman when I faked a smile and went along with what she said, which wasn't a lot.

To be continued...
